spent the afternoon at Gingerman raceway with my JRSC ITR. basic kit with hondata, kami header and a few other goodies. i did the half afternoon and got about 2-2.5 total hours of track time in. other than the AC tensioner idle pulley bolt coming out and me losing ac on the way to the track, and the Kamikaze header bolts simply NOT holding the header together (with lock washer mind you) the car was fantastic. no detonation at all from the J&S and the car was just plain fast and fun. anyone got some tips on the kmai header? this is the second time the nuts have backed off. red loctite? crank on the nuts even more? i am at a bit of a loss. on the way back ALL of the nuts came off and i had to go the last 20 miles with the collector completely disconnected from the header. SOOOOOOO LOUD!!! anyway, i am very happy with the performance and can report Zero JRSC related problems at the track. it was mid 70's to 80 degrees at the track, sunny and beautiful.

Sounds like an awesome day... too bad all it does is rain here in the Northeast (every Saturday for the past 7 weeks). Pictures?

I too had the AC tensioner come loose on the highway, moral here I guess is to make sure it's tight when you check your SC belts.

Good to hear the JRSC had no snags at the track - nice.

I cannot make it through a 2-day track event without blowing at least one gasket. Usually, I blow the mid-gasket in the kami header. Other times, I blow the header-cat gasket.

80% of the time, the gasket blows because one or more bolts comes loose, causing a chain reaction...the other bolts loosen and the gasket blows out. The rest of the time, the gasket just blows out even though the bolts all hold.

I'm sitting here with 4 blown gaskets on my desk. They're all the heavy-duty thick aluminum type. They seem to last longer than the thin copper kind. Don't even ask me how long the paper gaskets last me! If you figure out how to keep the exhaust gaskets intact, please share your secret. I'm tired of changing them out every track weekend!

It's a simple fix boys...
Yank that piece-o-shit Kazi header off and replace it with a DC Sports 1-pc. header. The power is the same and the hassle goes away.

I cannot believe how many times I have to repeat myself on this topic...

I had the same Kami header problems. Tried all the gaskets, broke the bolt heads off torquing them down, kept Locktite in business, etc. Then I took JRCivic's advice and installed a DC Sports header.

Haven't had a problem since.

Hmmmmm...

Kamikaze Header: $259.00
Six primary gaskets: $90.00
New bolts and locknuts: $12.00
Loctite Red: $3.00

Listening to REAL Performance Import Tuners instead of Internet hype: PRICELESS.

REMEMBER: "The bitterness of poor quality lasts far longer than the sweetness of a cheap price".

You know, i think i did that VERY same thing! And as a side bonus, you pick up some bottem-end power, well, i did anyway. I went through the same gasket problem you all did. 250 bux for DC 1pc 4-2-1 header was an expensive fix, but those that have had Kazi-problems look at it as a blessing.

Best time WITH Kamikaze, 4-1 header with 3" exit: [email protected]

Best time with DC 1pc 4-2-1 header with whatever exit: [email protected]

Call it track issues, call it weather.......either way the DC went faster.

The ceramic header typically sells for $330-360 on the internet. Shipping is additional.

Use the DC Sports JDM 4-1 with the 2.5" collector... the primaries are longer, however, the top end power will be similiar... if not better, than the Kazi.
